Rotary Club of Madras Cosmos was established in 1992 to expand the social services programs of Rotary clubs. Like-minded people who believe in the motto 'Help above the self' came together to help those in need and improve the quality of life of people around them. The Club is actively involved in many community service programs with a focus on education. A school has been adopted by the Club to build and improve facilities available to students. There are also regular donations of equipment and furniture to the schools in the area such as sewing machines and tables. Interact clubs with the Rotler school and Boston school ensure our close participation in the activities of these schools such as prize distribution for various events and honouring teachers during Teacher's Day celebrations. Our scholarship programs help ease the financial strain on the families of deserving students. We also conduct various blood donation camps regularly to increase the availability of blood to those in need. Our Blood Help Line programs was launched specifically to identify donors and create a database which can then be used for the good of all. From time to time we also conduct health camps for the poor and for people in old age homes. Our Club owes it success to the determination and enthusiasm of the members who give to social causes freely. We are always looking for more members to help further our case and improve the lives of people around us. Age is not a restriction and anyone can join in and help this good cause.
